They basically engineer to some ideal, then tell testers "use this until you change your mind about it." The design is set, the only point of the test is to discover how long it takes for people to accept it. "Hey here's an ipod with no buttons, how long did it take for you to forget what a scroll wheel was like?" Best believe I hate this touch bar.
