If I had to describe a strength in one word it would be peacemaker. I am good at fostering a healthy environment with another person, or group of people, and help people feel supported. I always try to be respectful of other peoples boundaries and seek a sense of balance. Lastly, I like to focus on what strengths someone can bring to the table (instead of their weaknesses) and how those strengths can be best utilized.
When you've worked towards a goal in the past, what systems or tools have been helpful for you in accomplishing that goal? How could you adapt those same systems/tools to use while at Turing?
In the past networking has probably been the most important tool for accomplishing a specific goal I have. I actually don’t particularly like the term “networking” and I find it more useful to think of it as “friend-making”. I’m slightly concerned about entering a brand new industry during the middle of a pandemic as it will certainly be harder to make friends, but I hope I can adapt to that by swapping lunch dates with zoom calls. Turing seems to put a lot of emphasis on being engaged and appears to have an active alumni community which gives me hope.
As you start this new career, what is one of your strengths and how do you know?
I have strong interpersonal skills and am good at working with others. While I don’t have any issue working alone, I have a lot of experience working with teams
