Call via crontab on whatever schedule suits you; keep n full mysql Percona xtrabackups of your mysql database, with binary logs applied. Also does a full mysqldump that can then have the binary logs applied to restore to a point-in-time backup via the binlogs. Copy all of this (backup, mysqldump, binlogs) to S3.
#!/bin/bash
#
# Carries out a full mysqldump, calls percona-xtrabackup and then
# copies the sql dump, the percona backup and your mysql bin logs
# to S3 using s3cmd http://s3tools.org/s3cmd
#
# TODO: extract out the S3 backup stuff to make it optional, and so
# other s3 programs can replace the s3cmd call.
# TODO: the if [ $? == 0 ] alert blocks should be a function
# TODO: make the if [ $? == 0 ] if [ $? != 0 ] more consistent - test

Using Grunt with a Cordova 3 project.

Grunt and Cordova 3

The advantages of using Grunt with Cordova:

  1. It simplifies working with the cordova cli.
  2. It provides a mechanism to copy platform customization to the platforms directory without having to commit the generated plugins and platforms directories to version control.
  3. It provides a way to watch resources and automatically run cordova commands.

Stack Overflow: .gitignore for PhoneGap/Cordova 3.0 projects - what should I commit?

Backbone.Collection.saveToCSV() — adds ability to save all of the collections models as a CSV file. NOTE: only tested on Chrome; may not work on all browsers, but would work well for packaged Chrome apps.

Rails resumable uploads

Uploads large files in multiple chunks. Also has the ability to resume if the upload is interrupted.

Typical usage:

  1. Send a POST request to /upload with the first chunk of the file and receive an upload id in return.
  2. Repeatedly PATCH subsequent chunks using the upload id to identify the upload in progress and an offset representing the number of bytes transferred so far.
  3. After each chunk has been uploaded, the server returns a new offset representing the total amount transferred.
  4. After the last chunk commit the upload by passing its id to another endpoint such as POST /upload/commit/:id:
