  1. What are each of our learning goals for this project? What drives us in this project?
  • Taryn: deeper understanding of js and how it interacts with other things (HTML & CSS); get things intrinisically; comprehension over product.
  • Jake: working with others and not independently
  1. What is your collaboration style? How do you feel about pair programming vs. divide-and-conquer approaches?
  • Taryn: tend to find it hard to slow down for another person, need to work on how to explain and help others understand.

  • Verbal communication, not text.
  1. How would you describe your work style?
  • focused, driven
  • goal oriented, competitive
  1. What are each of our strengths? How can our strengths complement each other?
  • Taryn: experience w/tutoring others, communication/relationship building
  • Jake: relationship/emotional psychology, lab experience, academic experience, athletic understanding.
  • Build a good relationship, good at teaching and receiving feedback and teaching.
  1. What’s gone well or poorly in your previous projects?
  • First project; both of us needed to slow down on the previous project to stay on track with what was requested.
  1. How will we set direction and make decisions as a team?
  • Make a plan tonight; regularly revisiting working relationship to make sure we are both ok with direction project is going.
  1. How will we overcome obstacles?
  • After 45 minutes on one problem, walk away for 15-30 minutes to either work on another problem or clear head.

  1. What do you need (resources, environment, communication) to do your best work?
  • Fairly quiet and calm environment
  1. What scheduling restraints do you have? What are your scheduling preferences?
  • Work from 6:30 - 8, with some later flexibility
  • Saturday 10 - 4ish;
  • Sunday flex time if needed
  1. What is your style for giving feedback? Does anything ever hold you back from giving feedback?
  • Try to be positive in giving feedback; praise something that is going great and reframe feedback in a positive way.
  • Hard when feeling stressed out to be positive in giving feedback
  1. What do you identify as being your biggest strength(s) technically, as they relate to this project? Where do you feel you could use improvement in your technical skills, as they relate to this project? How can our team help support you in improving these skills?
  • Taryn: feel pretty confident about the JS tech skills taught so far. How to connect JS with HTML & CSS
  • Jake: feel pretty confident about JS skills, specifically for looping; pay good attention to naming things.
  • Help with git flow and git commit messages (being intentional)
  1. What tools do you want to use to manage the project?
  • Using project management tool in Github
  1. How do you want the group to solve problems when members run into issues with features of the project?
  • Change navigator when running into issue
  • Doing more psuedocode
  1. How do you know if a project is successful? How can we achieve that as a group?
  • We both fully understand the code that is written; the other person can explain each others code.
  1. How will we recognize each other's successes and celebrate them?
  • When a code works when we've been frustrated on it
  • Celebrate by verbally acknowledging our successes.
