React or Ember, S3 Photo App

This is a paid project.

I'm looking for someone to build a single page JavaScript app in either Ember or React/Redux.

The person should have a pretty good handle of AWS services, particularly S3 and the JS sdk

Project:

Here's a rough idea of what I'd like built.

  • Host photos in an S3 bucket
  • JS spa would be hosted in a separate bucket that provides an interface to:
    • search and filter images based on date, tag, etc.
    • upload photos
  • Auth would be handled by Amazon federated login

Questions:

  • Is this even possible?
  • Can a JS app access and search an S3 bucket without a server involved?
  • How fast/quick would the search/sort and viewing be?
  • Maybe you have to do some sort of image processing for thumbnails to speed up load times?

What I want:

A quick proof of concept that this could actually work. No CSS, no styling. Just something quick and dirty that works.

Ideally, you'd have enough knowledge of AWS or quickly learn the SDKs to determine the feasibility.

Stacks, Chedda, Lettuce:

I would imagine there are a few of milestones: a) go to a static page that load the JS app, display photos from a separate bucket b) search, filter, and display photos c) authorization strategy

My initial thoughts are $1000 for each milestone. We can adjust accordingly if the work proves to be more involved.

If you have questions, write a comment or email me at my first initial and last name at Google's mail service.
