Reflect on your habits from last module. What behaviors and activities were helpful for you? What activities and behaviors could be more effective for you? What processes would you like to try differently this module to become more effective at your work and as a software developer?

I feel that coding around others was super helpful in motivating me to get my work done. I also feel that running and meditating daily helped give me a motivtional boast and a time to reset. In this mod I would like to dedicate time in the morning to studying. I feel that in dedicating time to study I will be more successful as a developer.

Setting intentions for this module: who do I want to be this module? What specific habits would help me get there? How are those habits tied to the identity of a software developer?

This module I would like to be more dedicated and proactice. I want to be someone who is fully engaged in class and is working 100% to understand and implement the material, I also want to help other in my cohort understand the material and help them succeed. I believe that implemting a daily study/practice regeme as well as making sure to reach out and verbalize code will help make me a better developer.

Incorporate temptation bundling to create a new habit by using this template:

After [CURRENT HABIT], I will [HABIT I NEED TO DO].

After [HABIT I NEED], I will [HABIT I WANT TO DO].

After Running I will shower after showering I will eat breakfast. Currently I don't eat breakfast consistantly like I would like.

How to enjoy “hard” habits: Reframe your habits to consider their benefits rather than their drawbacks; name 3 habits that you have to do and explain the benefits of them. How do they further your goals longterm? How will they add to your processes as a successful developer? At the end of the day, how do they add to your life?

I have to meditate and run every day as well as do pushups during every pom. I have to run because I want to run a marathon in the future. When I run I feel more mentally clear and healthy. I have to meditate every day because it helps keep me centered. I have to do pushups during every pom because it helps keep me going during class. With increased mental focus and clarity I will have the energy to continue to grow as a sucsessful developer. At the end of the day they add to my life be healthy habits that make help me make healthy choices that help make me a software developer.

Environment design (optional 5-min. additional reading: Motivation is Overvalued. Environment Often Matters More): how does your environment set-up currently help you with your habits? How could it be improved to make it easier for you to follow through on your habits?

In my current enviroment I am able to easily do my habits as I have the space to do them. It could be improved by having a set space for yoga.

“When you start a new habit, it should take less than two minutes to do.” Read this 4-min article on how to stop procrastinating. Apply the 2-minute rule to reframe 2-3 of your habits by scaling them down into the 2-minute version. How does this reframing help you think about shaping your new identity as a software developer?

I will open my Javascript book every day. I will do one JSfun once a day I will do one push up during poms Reframing these habits will help me to study more. In studing more I will develop the skills to become a strong software developer.
