Hey Samina!

Hello!!!

Welcome No amount of gifs or bad movie references could tell you how excited we are for you to join. We're a small team at Motel, we don't take new folks on lightly. You are amoung a really, really great group of people.

Resources

There's a couple things you should know when you first join, and they're all here and in this place sort of. The most important is probably How We Work at Motel. It talks about some basic stuff that goes on day to day, and how we use a slew of software services to make us better (and happier).

You may find in there something about Show and Motel. This is a big deal for us. It's our weekly meeting where we strut our stuff, you can learn a bit more about it in How we Work at Motel or check out the site. But we think it would be best if you just join!

For Show and Motel (and other things), Feedback Guidelines are really important. Like really important. It's a weird thing that most don't pay attention to, but we do. It hurts your little-heart-brain when someone says something, and it throws you off. The Structured Feedback Guidelines help with this stuff, so you should check it out :)

You're a developer

  1. We love you
  2. We have more stuff

You may not need it doing android work, but Coding Style at Motel is a must read for writing HTML and CSS, and a great reference if you ever need to dismantle a bomb using markup.

Using Git at Motel is a basic but helpful guide on making changes to a site, or starting a new feature. Git's hard, hopefully this makes it less hard.

You'll be working closely with the team at Motel, so should you ever have any questions, feel free to ask.

In Conclusion

We definitely haven't figure everything out, so let us know if we mess something up. We're always looking to improve, and we want to know if something isn't right.

Falling

We hope you enjoy working at Motel, we sure do. Don't hesitate to ask questions if you ever have any. And again, welcome!
