cd my-new-react-app

git checkout -b task/initial-setup

npm install -D eslint eslint-config-airbnb eslint-config-prettier eslint-plugin-import eslint-plugin-jsx-a11y eslint-plugin-prettier eslint-plugin-react husky prettier

update README.md:

git clone <repo link if there is>
cd project directory name
npm install

npm run dev

Update package.json with @ scripts:

"dev": "react-scripts start",
"lint": "eslint src/**/*.js src/**/*.jsx",
"format": "prettier --write src/**/*.js src/**/*.jsx",

Just after sccript section:

 "husky": {
    "hooks": {

    }
  },

create .prettierrc file and add:

create .prettierignore file and add:

serviceWorker.js
*.md

node_modules/

Create .eslintrc.js file and add:

  ],
};

Create .env.example file and add:

REACT_APP_BACKEND_API_PATH=
REACT_APP_FRONT_END_URL=http://localhost:3000

Create .editorConfig file and add:

Update serviceWorker.js with:

/* eslint-disable no-param-reassign */
/* eslint-disable no-use-before-define */
/* eslint-disable no-undef */
// This optional code is used to register a service worker.
// register() is not called by default.

// This lets the app load faster on subsequent visits in production, and gives
// it offline capabilities. However, it also means that developers (and users)
// will only see deployed updates on subsequent visits to a page, after all the
// existing tabs open on the page have been closed, since previously cached
// resources are updated in the background.

Redux setup

npm i redux react-redux redux-thunk

If you need react router: npm i react-router react-router-dom

Update index.jsx file to:

import React from 'react';
import ReactDOM from 'react-dom';
import { Provider } from 'react-redux';
import { createStore, applyMiddleware } from 'redux';
import thunk from 'redux-thunk';
import rootReducer from './reducers/rootReducer';
import './index.css';
import App from './App';
import * as serviceWorker from './serviceWorker';

const store = createStore(rootReducer, applyMiddleware(thunk));

ReactDOM.render(
  <Provider store={store}>
    <App />
  </Provider>,
  // eslint-disable-next-line no-undef
  document.getElementById('root')
);

// If you want your app to work offline and load faster, you can change
// unregister() to register() below. Note this comes with some pitfalls.
// Learn more about service workers: https://bit.ly/CRA-PWA
serviceWorker.unregister();

IF NEEDED: Create src/Utils/LocalStorage.js and add:

/* eslint-disable no-undef */
export function getLocalStorage(key) {
  if (!key) {
    console.error(`${key} doesn't exists.`);
    return null;
  }

  try {
    const valueStr = localStorage.getItem(key);
    if (valueStr) {
      return JSON.parse(valueStr);
    }
    return null;
  } catch (err) {
    console.error(err);
    return null;
  }
}

export function setLocalStorage(key, obj) {
  if (!key) {
    console.error(`${key} doesn't exists.`);
    return null;
  }

  try {
    localStorage.setItem(key, JSON.stringify(obj));
    return true;
  } catch (err) {
    console.error(err);
    return false;
  }
}

export function deleteLocalStorage(key) {
  if (!key) {
    console.error(`${key} doesn't exists.`);
    return null;
  }
  try {
    localStorage.removeItem(key);
    return true;
  } catch (err) {
    console.error(err);
    return false;
  }
}

Create src/actions folder

Create src/reducers/rootReducer.js and add:

import { combineReducers } from 'redux';

const rootReducer = combineReducers({

});

export default rootReducer;
