# From me. This is after figuring out that there is no 'delete account' button on my account page:
Yeah, delete my account please. 1st rule of the Internet is that you don't send passwords in clear text.
2nd rule is to not disable pasting into your change password form. Fucking idiots.
# From Go2Arena
Dear Mr Nicolaisen,
Thank you for your message.
According to Data Protection Directive we cannot delete your account, but because of your request we will
change you account status to "inactive". It means that any transaction linked to your information will be
rejected. Additionally I want to inform you, that "inactive" status is safier. It will block all potential
orders from your account at our store. Inactive account won't let to order, while deleted one (erased from
our database) could let fraud which hijacked your credit card/PayPal account to put your data again and
order freely.
I can sure you that your information won't be used in any illegal way. Saving it result from law and
security reasons.
Sincerely,
Krzysztof Borowski
# From me
Dear Mr Borowski,
Thank you for your prompt and honest reply. I assure you that I would rather take my chances and have the
account deleted. In any case, I have not associated any credit-card or PayPal account in the short time I
was registered.
If you still believe you are obliged by law to keep my account in existence, please share with me which
laws exactly you would be violating, and I'll take that up through the appropriate channels.
Regards,
Thomas Ferris Nicolaisen

# From me
Dear Wojciech,
I asked this in my previous email, but it appears to have gone unread:
If you still believe you are obliged by law to keep my account in existence, please share with me which
laws exactly you would be violating, and I'll take that up through the appropriate channels.
If you are referring to the European Data Retention Directive, I can assure you that they do not regulate
deletion of accounts. Feel free to keep any data such as IP, traffic, date of registration and so on, just
delete the credentials that are used for logging into my account.

Dear Mr Nicolaisen,
Here is an answer to your question. I hope you find here all the answers you were looking for.
Please note that any personal data are stored on our website with providing the best safety standards
possible, and others do not have access to it. I can assure you that your data will not be used by us
illegally, and leaving the data in the database is to make sure our mutual trade relations are safe.
That is why, according to your request, we changed the account status to "inactive". This means your
account is blocked, and you lost the possiblity to perform any actions allowed by this account. The data
is left only due to the realisation of the personal data protection according to the bill date for
August, 29 1997 about the personal data protection (please consult the 2002 Polish Journal of Laws, no.
101, pos. 926). The status "inactive" -- which is leaving the data without a possibility of making orders
-- is due to safety reasons. Thus any potential orders made by your accounty will be rejected by our system.
An inactive account does not allow to finish orders while a deleted account (erased from our database) could
possibly allow frauders who have your personal data to create a new account, and use the data obtained in an
illegal manner.
Please also note that processing of so-called common personal data is allowed -- according to art. 23 pass.
1 pt. 2 of the bill -- if it is necessary to realise the entitlements or fulfilling the duty resulting from
the bill of law. Therefore, the personal data protection bill refers to the bills that in a special way
regulate the activity of certain subjects of law and institutions indicating who, to who, and on what
occasions can share personal data, in this very case according to the art. no 19, pt. 2 of the July 18, 2002
bill about providing services in an electronic way, used only in archival or marketing purposes.
Processing personal data is also allowed when it is necessary to finalize a deal when a person whose data
is in question participates in such a deal, or when it necessary to make some actions before the deal is
sealed on demand of a person which data is in question, according to the art. no. 23, pass. 1, pt. 3 of the
personal data protection bill), and when it is necessary to fulfill purposes justified by the law which are
realised by the data administrator or data receivers, and such processing does not violate the rights and
freedom of a person who is in question, according to the art. no. 23, pass. 1, pt. 5 of the personal data
protection bill.
Having in mind your comfort as well, besides a protection from unlawful usage of your accounts, you can
decline to receive marketing offers. Thanks this our system will not only protect you, but also will not
inform you about discounts you are not interested in. In such a case the data will be left in our system
solely to eliminate any mistakes and sending marketing offers that you did not subscribe to.
I would also like to remind you that you have a right to access, correct, and fill out your personal data,
and right to demand termination of processing and deleting the data in case of abusing it. To do so, please
address the provider in a written form. You are also welcome to consult the company's privacy policy.
Sincerely,
Krzysztof Borowski
