DTR Memo

Project: Black Thursday

Group Members: Ashwin Rao, Jennifer Soden (did not complete project)

Goals and Expectations

  • We both would like passing scores
  • Jenny expects communication — if someone says something, don’t just acknowledge, actually say something as to why it should or shouldn’t be done that way

Schedule/Availability

  • Ashwin likes mornings, some days has to leave by 5:45 PM, will be available post 9 PM.
  • Jenny gets to school around 8 AM, has to leave by 8 PM to catch lightrail. Available online pretty much anytime except for hours of commute.

Communication

  • no preference
  • check out waffle.io

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • Ashwin strength: Patience, big picture and overall concepts
  • Jenny strength: bug fixing
  • Ashwin areas for improvements: TDD
  • Jenny improvements: be better at coding, especially around others

Gitflow

  • use branches
  • ask before merging
  • no merging broken or unfinished stuff
  • Every day try to finish something and push it.

Independent problem solving

  • use your brain
  • use your google
  • talk to other students
  • and then bring it to the other person
  • if still no resolution, office hours, student paring or mentors should be used as resources.
