Strengths and Storytelling for Turing School Mod 1 Back-End Round 2

Last module and this module have been night and day for me. This module I came in prepared, level headed, and confident that in my own abilities. I used my leadership, learner, and input strengths to help my cohort mates and pick up as many helpful strategies as possible. I dealt with a lot of anxiety and imposter syndrome last mod. It certainly was detrimental to my learning. This module I had a mindset that nothing was outside of my problem solving scope. Even if the problem is difficult, remembering that every problem has a solution helped me gain confidence in my ability to solve the problem. Because I knew what to expect the module was much less overwhelming. I understood my tools. I felt confident with my typing. I knew how to navigate around my environment. I had resources I was comfortable with at school. I sought out new resources. All of this is important when navigating the steep learning curve. I wish I was more prepared the first time around because I do miss my original cohort. I'm happy to have leveraged Turing for networking and for all of it's technical resources.

I envision the same level of success as I progress through Turing. I neve want to feel like I am behind or unprepared again. This place has completely redefined my personal work-ethic. I am happy to put in the hours, because what we do is special. I plan to build projects that can inspire others as I have been inspired during my time as a lower-module student. I want to stay at the top of my cohort so I can lift others up as I have been lifted. My story ends with graduation and a career I am proud of. It ends with me giving back to a Turing community that has and will continue to offer me an incredible amount of knowledge.

I'm someone who has yet to reach their potential. I have focused most of my time and energy building meaningful relationships with other humans and becoming skilled in areas that are enjoyable like snowboarding, traveling, writing, and creating meaningful friednships with a diverse set of people. But these skills have yet to help me financially. I plan to change this and leverage these skills in the tech industry. My strengths include a love for reading, a love of history, challenging the status quo and conventional wisdom with regards to economic policy, geopolitical relations, and social norms. I want to build applications that challenge people to think and behave with purpose and with awareness. I plan to build applications with and for others that have meaningful impact on the human condition. I appreciate the opportunity to reach these goals.
