Just wanted to send a proper message with updates and prayer points from our Events Week last week at LSE :) It's a bit of a long one, but thought the full story would be really encouraging and helps you to pray for us and all those who heard the Gospel:
- We had 8am prayer meetings every day and it was so encouraging to see 15+ people there every morning. Please pray that everyone would continue to keep prayer central past the week, and that we'd find ways to make it even more part of CU.
- Every day, we ran a free coffee stall on the main street through campus and flyered from there. A tonne of amazing conversations were had, but also very difficult ones from people who really reject the Gospel! But they still kept coming back and we kept pointing them to Christ. Please pray that those people would be struck by our love for them.
- The lunchtime events were incredible! Momentum built over the week and every day our speaker, Malcolm, spoke clearly and faithfully from the gospel on topics relevant to LSE students from success to acceptance. We had 80+ people there on Thursday and Friday who really seemed to engage and asked great questions. On Wednesday, we prayed that we'd have to throw CU people out for lack of space and indeed we did. Please pray that all would continue to think on the gospel and investigate Jesus for themselves.
- Evening events ran at All Souls, organised by UCCF and shared by all the London unis. Mike teached really compellingly and his preaching was a real encouragement to all of us, as well as to those we brought. It'd be great to have prayer for continued unity and teamwork between CUs in London.
- Now, I'm leading the follow-up into the coming weeks. We've got a good 30 people or so to get in contact with, to invite them to CU if they're Christians and to offer to do Uncover with them if not so they can see Jesus for themselves through his Word. Please pray that we'd be persistent in inviting people and that God would open peoples' hearts through John's Gospel.
