GPC Web Site 2014 Redesign - IA
# Information Architecture
The information architecture is the structure of the site which drive the site map, navigation and search (if any).
The site map drives the content inventory and is the next design artifact.
This document also identifies and prioritizes the audience(s) the content is intended to serve. I generally assume prospective/existing Sponsors are #1 but never want to neglect the others (runners/family/volunteers/route neighbors).
----
## STRATEGY: Annual Rhythm - Three Phases
I proposed three versions of the site - With different content for each - depending on time of year relative to the race. Mostly it would be the home page that changed.
1. PHASE Pre-race
* Primary Site Goal: Sign up sponsors
* Secondary Goal: Educate any visitor about the event
* Annual Calendar Window: August - mid October
* Up for: 45% of the calendar year
2. PHASE Race Time
* Primary Site Goal: Help Runners w Logistics
* Secondardy Goal: Orient Volunteers
* Annual Calendar Window: mid October - Race Day's end
* Up for: 10% of the calendar year
3. PHASE Post-race
* Primary Site Goal: Thanks Sponsors and Supporters!
* Secondary Goal: Announce winners
* Annual Calendar Window: Day after race until August 1
* Share photos, etc.
* Up for: 45% of the calendar year
