Moondrop Isle

I originally played an earlier build which was removed from the server while I played it. Some of these notes are from that build, and might therefore be fixed/outdated in the later build which replaced it.

Zach:

  • Logic:
    • It's not clear to me what the point of the kitchen puzzle is. is it just a shortcut/alternate route? for its complexity I kinda expected reaching a new area, but I'd already been in the Break Room/Statue Garden via the tunnels
    • "wear glasses" doesn't work? (This might have been fixed in newer build?)
  • Missing descriptions:
    • Clotho's Yarn: "x group" should work
    • Break Room: couch, microwave, lockers
  • Typos:
    • Tamerlane's - Fashion Department: "The man outstreches his hand and pointer finger directly at you." (pointer -> points his?)
    • Tamerlane's - Fashion Department: "The mall's promenade narrows as and begins to curve as" (one "as" too many)
    • Monorail Station: "monorail.." (double periods)
    • North Hall: "A truly massive fern that has consumed the center of this hall." ("that" should be removed)
    • Statue Garden: "the islands Tunnels" ("island's")
    • Food Court: The post-it note from Marbet is missing a closing quotation mark

Jason:

  • Typos:
    • Cart Path, Southeast Intersection: "passes enters"
    • 11th Hole: "hold" -> "hole"
    • 7th Hole: "directl" -> "directly"
    • Flotation Central: "is simple wooden hut" (missing article)
  • Missing descriptions:
    • Cart Path, Southwest Bend: "fence" is undescribed (I wanted to search it for the bolt cutters)
    • "x listing" should be a synonym for "x score"
    • "score" could maybe also be a synonym for checking the golf scoreboard? Currently "score" says "There is no score in this story" which isn't quite accurate.
  • Logic:
    • The dead golf cart can only be pushed east/west on the golf course, but in the water park it can be pushed in all directions around the fence
    • The broken golf cart inside the water park is easily confused with the dead golf cart outside the water park. The broken golf cart can't even be pushed around. Does it need to be a golf cart? Can't there maybe be something completely stationary that you climb on instead?
    • You can look inside the golf bag even before wading out into the water and taking the golf bag. Looking inside the golf bag at that point reveals the keycard, but if you try to examine the keycard, you see no such thing (which is natural). Perhaps you shouldn't be able to look into the golf bag before getting it?
    • Monorail Stairs: The monorail station is to the south from the Monorail Stairs, and trying to go south when the drawbridge is raised gives an error - however, trying to walk north seems to also entail crossing the drawbridge, and gives a different error altogether.
    • Clubhouse Storage Area: Might just be me, but I truly don't understand the layout of this room. A Z-shape that has tipped over? The northern end is blocked with handrails and descent to an empty doorway, even though I arrived here from the north (Tunnel Through the Clubhouse)? The southern end has stairs that go up to a first-floor landing, even though that door leads down to the tunnels?
    • Instead of having to drop clubs all the time, maybe it should be possible to "hit ball with wedge" etc?

Carl:

  • Typos:
    • Northeast Beach (north of Burned Building): "steep hill begins" is missing an article
    • North Beach (north of Buried Boardwalk): "northneast"
    • Northeast Beach (north of West Beach and southwest from Northwest Beach): The room name should be "Northeast Beach"
    • Southeast Beach (south of Mall Entrance): "is curves"
    • Grassy Area (east of Guinea Pig Habitat): "You" is capitalized after a comma
    • Grassy Area (south of Arboretum):
      • "impassable.You" (missing space)
      • "chain-ling fence" ("ling" should be "link")
      • The fence is also called "chain link fence" without a hyphen when examining it; if I write "x chain-link fence" like in the description, I can't see any such thing. The hyphen is also missing in the room to the south of here.
      • "vegetation" should be a synonym for "nettles" (the "vegetation" is growing through the fence, and the notebook in the hot dog stand talking about the biting plants made me examine it in search of the bolt cutters)
    • Kiosk #3 (six buttons): "The RESET and BACK buttons are still present.Ethed into the surface of the kiosk below the buttons is a picture of a slatted basked with some leaves poking out the top." (multiple typos: missing space between sentences, "Ethed, "basked")
    • When the pebbles reappear after having appeared before, there's a "(?)" after its description, but also a stray linebreak
  • Missing descriptions:
    • x wharf
    • x hotel (should probably be visible all over the island, considering its size. scenery?)
    • x boardwalk (should be scenery in the rooms where it goes)

Joey:

  • Missing descriptions:
    • Crimson Hallway: "x wall" should work
    • Dusty Corner: "tickets" should be a synonym for "spool"
  • Typos:
    • Rusty Gantry: "leading from arcade roof" (missing article)
    • Dusty Corner: "enought"
    • Inventory contains "a dried leaves"
    • Saucer's Shadow:
      • "the walls of the Crescent to the west, and the closed shutters of the Selenelion to the west." (Both the walls of the Crescent and the Selenelion are to the west?)
      • There's an extra stray period here
    • Fairground Stalls:
      • "A boardwalk winds off towards the beach, to the east." (shouldn't that be "west"?)
      • "over-head" (does it need a hyphen? I'm not a native English speaker)
    • Crescent Mezzanine:
      • "intermittant" ("intermittent")
      • "shutter have been rolled down" ("shutters")
    • Lunarcade Main Floor:
      • "mezannine" ("mezzanine")
