Lead positions start at equivalent of IC3
Manager positions start at the equivalent of IC4

L3 - 61,62
L4/M4 - 63,64
L5/M5 - 65,66
L6,M6 - 67,68

Career Stages are used to maintain parity between geographies and professions, where the levels differ.

For eg, in CSS and Services in India
IC2 - 56,57
IC3 - 58,59
IC4 - 60,61
IC5 - 62,63
IC6 - 64,65

Although the levels are -3 from engineering, say a person transitions from CSS to Engineering, their career stages will be lateral, the level will go +3.
