On October 24, 2021 I posted this tweet:

I started experimenting with Twitter because I have been working on an info product (geared toward helping developers show their work online). Everybody who's had success in this space talks about building an audience either before or while you build your deliverable.

This Art of Product Podcast was especially helpful.

So I decided to be more intentional about growing online. After some success on Twitter, I realized that I should probably be sharing more than just tweets. This led me to begin a popular online challenge called 30for30.

This post will be number 9. So far I've written about:

As I list each of these posts, I'm surprised that I did this. Some of the writing is complete dogsh#t. Some of it's not bad. I guess I'm just happy to have created something consistently.

Data:

Thoughts:

So I got 684 people to go to my website. On average, they each spent about 20s on the site. This confirms something that I already knew: I need to write more interesting content. From what I've read 2-3 minutes is considered a good session duration for a blog so lots of work to do there.

I also got about 113K impressions and 9k profile visits. Most of these hits are due to tweets and replies not relating to my blog posts, but the process for creating tweets and posts is pretty similar, so I consider these outputs of one process.

On the days where I had lots of visitors, I cross-posted to other relevant online communities. Some of my posts didn't feel relevant so I didn't share them as widely, hence the plateu.

The fact that over 100k people have seen my writing is mind blowing.

Next Steps:

  • Continue writing 1 post daily
  • Continue tweeting several times daily
  • Finish my info product, link to it on twitter and blog
  • Work on other Saas Ideas
