Responsible for maintaining and monitoring cloud infrastructure. You will be part of a on-call rotation that is responsible for our production environment.
Maintain and measure performance and uptime service levels for Neat’s technology infrastructure. Collaborate with and mentor software engineers to establish and drive operational acceptance criteria for new projects and features.
Collaborate across the team to increase quality and adaptability, reduce risk, and reduce effort for release and operational tasks.
Ubuntu, Ruby/Rails, Solr, MongoDB, Amazon EC2, SQS, RDS, EBS, Chef, Scout, NewRelic, PagerDuty, Statsd/Graphite
- Knowledge and experience of build & release automation and continuous integration.
- Knowledge and experience of operational monitoring systems.
- Knowledge and experience of configuration management using Chef/Puppet. In-depth Ruby and/or Python experience expected as a result.
- Demonstrated history of seeking out and bringing in new ideas.
- Remains calm and effective in the face of unexpected change.
- Unix system administration
- Enthusiasm for collaborative, iterative development.
- Ability to design and implement robust and maintainable utilities.
- Familiarity with DevOps approaches and methodologies.
- In-depth knowledge of and experience with Amazon Web Services
- Experience with continuous integration systems
- History of active participation in Open Source projects. (Tell us your github URL!)
- Experience with securing cloud infrastructure and implementing intrusion detection
- Experience with MongoDB and/or MySQL.
- Docker/Packer experience
- VirtualBox/Vagrant experience
- Open source contributions in Ruby
- Performance monitoring/testing
- Java VM tuning
- JRuby production deployment
