We are already quite familiar with analytics but here's our course of reasoning for this site setup.

References:

Notes:

  • Google Analytics
    • Free forever
    • Has user tracking (requires consent from users, which is good for internationalization)
  • Mixpanel
  • KissMetrics - Avoiding due to privacy controversy
  • Anything else is either too expensive or lacks reputation (and thus trust for uptime)

Decision:

We are going with Google Analytics for now.

We are fearful of hitting 1 of the 2 Mixpanel quotas too quickly before we have income to afford it.
