Yes, that's an issue with rgl--it does not fully support operation in headless mode (no snapshots).

Works perfectly on Rstudio server now, thanks. Can't seem to get it to run on the headless Raspberry Pi though - I get the X11 error without the options I mentioned above, and with the options it just produces black images.
