Did you have success with debugging this? I have bought one of those second hand, found that it had the problem, worked around it by putting it into the fridge.
Also tried to solder the serial port. Reading the boot output worked, but stopping by pressing keys didn't (I am suspecting, that my soldering joint wasn't good). As for the blue blinking issue, it didn't even output anything on the serial port when it blinked and didn't boot.

Then I put the sole board into the oven, 220°C for 20 minutes and the problem is gone! :)

Did you have success with debugging this?

I had no time for this yet :(
And I don't know how I'd solder the WT69P3 chip UART (or whatever it is ?), because the holes are really thin and I don't have the adapted equipment. I'm not even sure the holes are wired.

Also tried to solder the serial port. Reading the boot output worked, but stopping by pressing keys didn't (I am suspecting, that my soldering joint wasn't good).

You mean stopping uboot ? I haven't tried this (and I know this can be disabled, I don't know about this one).
I had some difficulties with soldering too, too weak soldering iron (15W ..), could only solder RX & TX, I got GND from the fan connector :]

As for the blue blinking issue, it didn't even output anything on the serial port when it blinked and didn't boot.

I'm not sure what you mean here ? Blinking + no boot & no output => thermal sensor issue right ?
So you managed to fix it by ~resoldering in oven, is that it ?

Btw there's no notifications for Gists, so you can continue by email (or just ping to keep this public) if you want.

Did this solved the thermal sensor issue?

Did this solved the thermal sensor issue?

It seems from the message, my attempt with this was however a failure (not hot enough? Not enough time? I've never done this before), but I just saw that this thread is giving useful advises: http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=55647.15

Also, https://pop.fsck.pl/hardware/dns-320l.html gives more informations on the Weltrend WT69P3 (I'm still hoping to play with it one day).
