designmami: The SSENSE redesign is mostly interesting in context: it was purely an digital retailer, but they're moving into publishing original content, trying to expand into it's own kind of "lifestyle brand" a la "it's nice that." i wouldn't be surprised if they opened their own creative agency.

designmami: In a way, it's similar to Dropbox: creating a utilitarian base, and then constructing a "brand" around it.

wised1: Outside of earning, there has to be a context in which that trust can be applied or welcomed. This is not the case in many contexts. Some places, a lot even, don't have the ability to trust through pressures.
wised1: It is this situation or mentality that is unfortunate.
designmami: i think real trust today is harder to create through a brand (at least by itself) because it can be so easily faked or bought. that's why creating more equitable business/ownership models, to me, is a key part of creating trust.
