##### DIALOG 0 #####
Anna: Another rainy day...
Grandpa: Another day to lose in Kuro, I guess?
Anna: You're on!

##### DIALOG 1 #####
Anna: I love this game.
Grandpa: I don't know when you got so good at it.
Anna: You mean the day I was born? Hehe.
Grandpa: Ha! That seems like yesterday.
Grandpa: This game is older than you, you know?
Anna: Really? Who gave it to you?
Grandpa: No one. It was found on a pirate ship.

##### DIALOG 2 #####
Grandpa: Nice move. You have to think like a pirate in this game...
Anna: Just because we live on a boat...
Anna: ...doesn't make you a pirate, Grandpa.
Grandpa: (Heavy sigh)
Anna: So how did you get on a pirate ship?
Grandpa: That's a long story. It's a couple games worth of time.
Anna: Now I'm really curious.
Grandpa: ... I left home when I was very young to become a pirate.

##### DIALOG 3 #####
Grandpa: I was tired of living in poverty,
 under the strict rule of the emperor.
Grandpa: I chose a life for myself,
 a life of independence as a pirate.
Grandpa: I'm not proud of those days,
 but it's where I met my true family - my crew mates.
Anna: Do you still talk to them?
Grandpa: They're all gone. So no.

##### DIALOG 4 #####
Anna: What happened to your crew mates?
Grandpa: They died in a battle at sea.
Grandpa: I remember that day so clearly.
Grandpa: (Clears throat) It was a dark and stormy night...
Anna: Just tell me already Grandpa!

##### DIALOG 5 #####
Grandpa: That night, I woke up at sea to the shot of a cannon ball.
Grandpa: A cannon ball shot through the stern.
And killed every single crew member, except me.
Grandpa: The whole boat up in flames, there was nothing I could do.
Grandpa: I fled on a fishing boat and left the crew's ship to sink.
Grandpa: As I floated away, I saw the ship responsible. 
It had the symbol of the emperor.

##### DIALOG 6 #####
Anna: So... the emperor sent his own pirates...
 to kill you?
Grandpa: Maybe.
Anna: ... And you just let him?
We should march onto the emperor's building right now!
Grandpa: I tried to avenge my crew Anna, but revenge never works. 
Especially not last time.
Anna: Well did you do anything?
Grandpa: I attempted to assassinate the emperor.

##### DIALOG 7 #####
Grandpa: I stole and I killed. I raided other boats for gold.
I planned to buy a new boat.
Grandpa: One that the emperor would like as a gift.
Anna: Why haven't you ever told me this story Grandpa?
Grandpa: I never wanted you to think differently of me.
Anna: You're the only family I have Grandpa. I would never.

##### DIALOG 8 #####
Anna: Did that plan actually work?
Grandpa: Mhm. I told the emperor that I would meet him in
 the morning at the Royal Docks, next to the East Palace.
Anna: What did he say that morning?
Grandpa: I snuck into his room at the East Palace the night before.
Anna: Did you kill him?

##### DIALOG 9 #####
Grandpa: ... Yes I did kill him.
Anna: You did what you had to do. Grandpa, are we in trouble?
Grandpa: I don't know. But no one ever saw me. That's why I 
live in a boat Anna.
Anna: Wow.
Grandpa: That night, I took three things from the emperor's desk.
 Including a pirate's game of Kuro and the book I read you every night.
Anna: 'The Kraken Slayer: A Royal's Journey.'
Grandpa: That one.

##### DIALOG 10 #####
Anna: That's just a book.
Grandpa: 'Only a member of the family can kill the kraken'.
And I killed the royal emperor.
Grandpa: (Starts to cry)
Anna: Grandpa, you were doing this for your family!
I would do the same for you!
Grandpa: I'm sorry Anna.
Anna: Don't be. If you hadn't done this, I wouldn't get to play Kuro.

##### DIALOG 11 #####
Anna: What was the 3rd thing you took from the emperor?
Grandpa: What?
Anna: You said you took 3 things.
Grandpa: ... I don't remember.
Anna: You just told me you murdered the emperor.
You can't lie now Grandpa!

##### DIALOG 12 #####
Grandpa: Here's what I took that night.
(Holds up parchment)
Anna: A piece of parchment?
Grandpa: The last page of `The Kraken Slayer`.
Anna: I didn't know there was a last page.
Grandpa: The Kraken escap-
Environment: (Boat Shakes)

##### DIALOG 13 #####
Anna: It's just the storm.
Grandpa: 'The Kraken escaped that night. Innocent men were
sacrified because I failed to slay the kraken...
Grandpa: 'the life of a pirate is already lonely. I'm sorry.'
Environment: (Boat Shakes More)
Anna: What's happening grandpa?
Grandpa: '... To my last heir, my daughter Anna:
I shall slay the Kraken so that you never have to.'
