Hiring PHP Software Engineer in Malaysia

Job Description

Zynesis is a profitable startup based in Singapore with 2 major arms: Consulting and In-house Product Development. We are looking to expand our Malaysian team.

We are seeking PHP Software Engineer to scale out our development work.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable developing applications and services that leverage on CakePHP, able to work within an agile development environment, and be comfortable with project management and code versioning tools. We welcome telecommuting options and trust that you will have a strong sense of responsibility and commitment in your work.

We love open source and its community. We ourselves are active contributors (@zynesis & @uzyn) to open source projects and we encourage our developers to do the same.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain PHP based applications
  • Implement, update and maintain front-end components (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Follow best coding practices when developing
  • Actively communicate with team during development processes.

Skills & Requirements

  • High understanding and familiarity with PHP
  • Knowledge in MVC architecture
  • Strong relational database knowledge (MySQL)
  • Experienced in working with code versioning system (Git) and bug/issues tracker
  • Front-end knowledge (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery)
  • Students and interns are welcomed to apply as long as you can commit at least 30 hours per week

Extra bonus points

  • Familiarity with CakePHP
  • Have an active GitHub account
  • Amazon Web Services experience
  • NoSQL knowledge, especially MongoDB and/or ElasticSearch
  • Strong interest in the latest web technologies
  • Linux-fu
