Core responsibilities specific to these product lines include general oversight, product feature ask reviews, quarterly feature planning, execution, UX/Technical design reviews, people management, training/evangelism, security/compliance and production support.\n\nApart from these responsibilities and with a team of two senior engineers, I am experimenting with implementing a Declarative ML Framework using open source technologies like Ray and Ludwig on GKE for general purposes to be used by the data scientists at 247. The declarative MLOps pipeline is expected to train, serve, and monitor models using Ludwig, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Jupyter notebooks, or even plain Python scripts.\n\nTech Stack: Nodejs, Apigee Gateway, Javascript, Cassandra, Mysql",

"summary": "Dabbled in taking up more responsibilities and product teams. Expanded role for UI Engineering in Web, iOS, and Android. During this time, I was made responsible for two more product teams - a Virtual Assistant Building tool and an Instant Messaging platform. Engineering management of the Messaging platform working with partners like Apple for Apple Messages for Business products, Google for Google Business Messaging, and Twilio for Programmable SMS for businesses. With 12 bright engineers and knowledgable product owners, we were able to onboard some of the big businesses on the digital chat from legacy IVR-based customer support, providing up to 60% spend reduction while maintaining the satisfaction rate below the 70% SLA. The Virtual Assistant Building tool was a game changer for the company and replaced the engineering-heavy application development task with a low-code designer-focused self-service tool. The tool reduced the effort by up to 75% and turnaround time by 60-80% depending on the complexity of the virtual assistant change request.\n\nDuring this time, there was a complex and breakthrough experiment done to create a 3rd party UI SDK for iOS and Android using React-Native. The experiment was successful and paved the path for a lot of consolidation of technical components in UI on various devices, but was high maintenance and prone to heavy dependency refreshes.\n\nTech Stack: Nodejs, Apigee Gateway, Javascript, MySQL, iOS, Android, SPAs using React, Component Library using React, SCSS+EmotionJS and Storybook.",

"summary": "This role marks the start of my journey into product development. Earned the opportunity to take ownership of two of 247.ai's early frontend frameworks as part of the cross-geo handover of responsibilities. Spent a couple of months understanding the frameworks and multiple hours of hands-on coding of features. Over time built and groomed a team of highly energetic engineers to share the ownership of two product components. My team was responsible for technical feasibility analysis, high-level design, development, and rollout of features. Regular release cadence, production support, user feedback, and agile processes were the learning focus at this time.\n\nTech Stack: Nodejs, Javascript, SPAs using Handlebars+jQuery+backboneJS (typical model-view-controller SPA)",

"summary": "Getting deeper into the JavaScript world just felt like a natural progression. Learned about various frameworks in the game. Prototypejs and scriptaculous to start with. jQuery was the industry's go-to framework at the time, but I was a fan of http://youmightnotneedjquery.com. Due to pains faced with IE7, IE8 and browsers on older iOS and android operating systems, “Browser compatibility” got imbibed in my DNA. During this role, for the first time in my career, I was introduced to the concept of mentoring and training interns. I am proud to say that I could produce some superstars.",

He is one engineer i have seen as an expert in both code and management. His way of working keeps you always motivated to reach high bars. I felt blessed to work with him during my course of time reporting to him. "

The project had a steep learning curve and We had to get the product out in a short period of time. Vageesh was one of the team members who could quickly grasp the design and complete quality coding in a short period of time. We could deliver the product on time with high customer satisfaction. He also helped in guiding the junior team members in design and development activities. Vageesh is a smart worker and can get more work done in less time. He possesses good technical and manegerial skills and can easily adapt and learn new skills as needed. He has a potential to become a good technically oriented manager."

He is hard working and work very excellently as a team player. I saw him working on parallel releases in last quarter of '09 where some production issues were there and we had some major task for new release also. He is the only person who figured out how can we simulate cross colo network delay with dummyNET and took the performance measurement for releases. I can say that Vageesh can be a good asset for any team."

He helped me in getting trained technically during my early days in our team which I would really say, he did more than he was expected. He is always committed to what he is. His contributions as a developer was fabulous, which reduces the reworks extensively during future maintenance of the projects he did. His analysis will be focusing both on technical and business processes which he takes proactively. It was nice working with a good team player like Vageesh."
