Presentation Resources

  • Matthew McCullough

Presentation Patterns - Matthew was a co-author on this great book on giving technical (code, engineering, etc) presentations in a cookbook/recipe style format.

Presentation patterns - a brief story about teaching technology - a slide deck from a presentation given at Denver Java Users Group in March 2013.

  • Garr Reynolds

Presentation Zen - Garr's homepage for presentation related information. Presentation Zen is also a series of books on presenting that are all great.

  • Scott Berkun

Confessions of a Public Speaker - a great book from someone who earns a good chunk of his living as a public speaker. Covers some of the "meta" aspects of public speaking - rooms to avoid (and how to adjust), how to speak to a camera, etc.

Confessions of a Public Speaker - Scott talking about this subject on YouTube. How to give an Ignite Talk - an Ignite talk (5 minutes, 20 slides) on how to give an Ignite talk. Scott also covers how to create a story and choose a subject perfect for a 5 minutes timespan.
