DTR with Carla Module 1

Template for DTR Memo

Project: Intention Timer

Group Member Names: Virginia Ladd & Carla Geglio

Goals and Expectations for the Project (What does each group member hope to get out of this project? What do we want to achieve as a team? How will we know that we're successful?):

Not only learning technical, but communication skills. We want to achieve a cohesive solution, not just a one-sided answer. We'll know we're successful when we have aproject we're proud of at the end.

Team strengths & collaboration styles (consider discussing your Pairin qualities here):

Team strengths: Both task oriented and driven; like to get things done. ✅ We both like divide and conquer method, but only after a thorough pair programming foundation.

How we can use our strengths to overcome obstacles:

Great communication will aid our collaboration style of divide and conquer. Keeping each other 100% in the loop.

Schedule Expectations (When are we available to work together and individually? What constraints do we have?):

Both flexible after school to work together, as well as an hour before to possibly meet up and retro.

Communication Expectations (How and often will we communicate? How do we keep lines of communication open? How will we make decisions as a team?):

We both thing we can't communicate too much. A morning retro to regroup, in person meetings for larger problem-solving solutions and pseudo code (Wireframe), and then open availability on slack / text.

Abilities & Growth Expectations (Technical strengths and areas for desired improvement):

Attention to detail is a big win for us. Small background experience. Better muscle memory for coding language syntax. Getting better at readign and articulating what each line of code does.

Workload Expectations (What features do we each want to work on?):

Equal split.

Larger items work on together. Smaller pieces get split up individually BUT ALSO shared with each other and have a converstaion about the completed task.

Workflow Expectations (Git workflow/Tools/Code Review/Reviewing Pull Requests/Debugging and Problem-solving Techniques):

N/A Need to learn how to merge repos on GitHub.

Expectations for giving and receiving feedback:

Very open and honest to positive and negative feedback. Knowing that just because I disagree doesn't mean I think I'm right and you're wrong.

Project management tools we will use (GitHub projects or Trello are popular tools):

GitHub works great. Module 0 To-Do List.

Day 1 Agenda:

Stay after school to talk about our project and our goals for the next session.

Additional Notes:

Yay! 😁
