Szechuan Sauce from Binging with Babish
Szechuan Sauce
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 tbs apple cider vinegar
1/2 tsp sesame seed oil
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp marmite (yeast extract)
1/4 corn syrup
black pepper
Mix all ingredients and pour into a sauce pan. Remove 1/4 cup of sauce, split into two small bowls.
Add 2 tbs corn starch to one bowl
Add 1 tsp xanthan gum to the other
Whisk and strain each bowl back into the sauce. Whisk over medium heat until thick.
