# Solution: 
## SMAP or Supervisor Mode Access Prevention in kernel is "causing" this problem.
1. Make a backup copy of the grub.cfg and add a line to /etc/default/grub:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="nosmap nosmep"
 
2. Assuming this is not an EFI boot machine:
$ grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg
$ reboot
$ systemctl restart cvfs
$ systemctl status cvfs
