(Aqua/E)macs deficiencies:
 - working across files (projects)
  - searching for strings in project
  - opening other files in project
  - viewing files, opened or not
 - tabs
  - cannot be reordered
  - cannot be torn off or reparented
 - vast over-use of control key
 - poor file browsing
  - is there no hierarchical disclosure view?!
 - poor remote file manipulation
 - no mouse UI elements (except menus and aquamacs "toolbar")
  - buffers have no close (or reliable resize) widgets
 - multi-file searching
  - has a CLI grep wrapper, not hygenic, requires knowledge of grep arguments
 - terrible block editing
 - poor or no visual design
 - often ugly syntax highlighting colors
 - no multi-user capability

Just Emacs:
 - word / line navigation requires control key
