A millionaire or some kind of famous person like that —
Rich enough to afford care, but not rich enough to escape it —
Dies alone in his COVID19 quarantine.
In his own hospital cell,
With his own ventilator.
His body fails him
But money still runs,
The electricity to power the machines,
The control of supply and demand.
A young girl or the body of what appears to be a young girl —
Beloved and precious, but not rich enough to afford it —
She lies in a very, very expensive hospital bed.
They can’t afford to keep her alive anymore.
Not with her own ventilator.
Her body keeps fighting.
Her heart keeps beating.
That thinning trickle of oxygen...
Tears run. Lives scarred.
But, it is done.
Life is too expensive to keep living.
