Overview

SpaceWire is the standard data transfer and network interface which is standardized as ECSS-E-ST-50-12C lead by the European Space Agency (ESA). RMAP is a short for Remote Memory Access Protocol which is the standardized data transfer protocol over SpaceWire (ECSS-E-ST-50-52C).

Aim

The open-source SpaceWire project aims

  • to develop SpaceWire-related software and hardware for ground experiments, and to make their source code and circuit board designs available to anyone interested,
  • to develop an open-source SpaceWire and RMAP IP core which can be implemented in the real spacecraft missions (partially completed), and
  • to share experiences of members gained in their own projects.
