That httpd conf content is not correct.
Please use this.

<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
        # If an existing asset or directory is requested go to it as it is
        RewriteCond %{DOCUMENT_ROOT}%{REQUEST_URI} -f [OR]
        RewriteCond %{DOCUMENT_ROOT}%{REQUEST_URI} -d
        RewriteRule ^ - [L]
        # If the requested resource doesn't exist, use index.html
    RewriteRule ^ /index.html
</IfModule>

Does anyone know why running React on Apache gives me just a blank screen? I'm not even running something I made, just the demo that is created from create-react-app and then npm build.

Here is my web browser:
https://imgur.com/a/IDlSqMW

The error says that there is a problem in my manifest file. Here are the contents of it.

{

    {
      "src": "favicon.ico",

    }
  ],
  "start_url": ".",

im assuming you added the homepage in the package.json before making the build for example:

"homepage": "http://localhost/build/",

You should follow these steps:

  1. make sure to add "homepage": "http://domain.com/path-where-to-host-app/" to your package.json file
  2. Build the project: npm run build
  3. copy the content of the build folder to your server directory "path-where-to-host-app"
  4. visit your app url : http://domain.com/path-where-to-host-app/ - your page content should display

the Icon must stored to public folder or delopmment folder there is all other files of your app. Part who you called start_url get absolute path and this is good. But in package.json file You must write some like this for develop "home":"." or on your host "home":"YourHost"

It's just add SSL to apache, react doesn't influence on SSL

*PS.: By the way take care to React make only safe requests (in HTTPS servers) to avoid lose the "safety icon" on browser

But, exists one more problem. This is port there setup React app. Default is port 3000, but Apache work on port 80, and in configuration for Apache server must set Proximity how you can show React app.

You can see my repository https://github.com/srbin25/Express-react-app , where you can add more componetes in react app and if you run npm start you gete all app on port 80. After command npm init you must make node - express server file like me. There get
// config port of server
const port = process.env.PORT || 80;

And when you run npm start you can get all file who you can copy on your host. But, for image or other file like this you must get here src links for him. Like is img src="http://localhost/path-where-is-your-file/name.ext" .
In this example local host there your need files is folder dist like root folder. That say code from file webpack.config.js
output: {
filename: 'bundle.js',
path: path.resolve(__dirname, 'dist')
},

@Miodragt React uses port 3000 for dev mode. For production, you need to build the project, which generates your index.html with .js bundle and other assets. Then, you can make it available through Apache virtualhost and port 80/443.

If you are reading this and it hasn't work for you, all you need to do is to change "private": true to "private": false in your package.json file before you run npm run build and remove the "homepage" object in your package.json as it is no longer necessary.
