Community Compose

Pitch:

Flat.io is a powerful composer score collaboration web app. It functions similar to github except for written music. A user is able to create projects, invite collaborators, and even compose scores in your browser. What it does lack is a sense of community. So the idea is to connect musicians and composers alike that live in the same areas and invite them to collaborate on scores, look for other composers, connect musicians to composers. It would also be able to grab any existing relevant scores from flat's database

Features:

Connect local user's of the same community either through location services Or through facebook, google

What role does empathy play in your life and how has it helped you?

In music, I've worked in many band situations where there is open collaboration between all members. In these situations, I have learned to be empathetic because listening to other member's ideas makes the band more successful as a whole by not only receiving a diversity of ideas from all members but also by ensuring that every member has a voice that is heard. This is just one example of how empathy has helped me. Recently, I have been teaching piano lessons to high school and up students. One of my students was very disengaged at first and was not interested in what I was teaching him. What is your greatest strength and how do you know?

My greatest strength is that I am hardworking and determined. In my experience, this has meant that I have been able to set my mind to bigger tasks and accomplish them. For example, I taught myself how to roast coffee and how to play jazz piano. I do this through seeing the process, the road to get to where I want to be, and not concerning myself with the end result during the process, all the while enjoying the daily practice.
