//compare with staged files

//unstage
*  git reset octofamily/octodog.txt
//restore to last commit
*  git checkout -- octocat.txt
//create new branch
* git branch clean_up
//list branches
*  git branch
//git checkout clean_up -->switch to branch OR
* git checkout -b new_branch -->create + switch
//remove all files
* git rm '*.txt'
* git merge clean_up
//delete branch after merge // use -f flag if deleting without merge
* git branch -d clean_up
* git push
