I am excited for the potential opportunity to help Heroku improve their distributed data collection and plan for future growth in the same way that I've done for numerous companies over the course of my career.

Most recently, as a member of the Insights team, I helped build numerous features of our cutting-edge analytics platform, on both the back- and front-end. We developed new tools that allowed customers to query custom event data in real time, and visualize those query results in a number of useful ways. During this time we operated as a full devops team: we handled our own deployment, incident response, capacity planning, and emergency response. The power of this platform made it the go-to tool for New Relic's biggest customers, as it allowed them to get a handle of the massive amounts of custom data their applications can generate.

In my career I've had the opportunity to help many different kinds of organizations. I've helped Lady Gaga make sure that the mobile app that was released as a promotion for her ARTPOP album didn't cause the custom backend to fall over right away. I worked with ENTP to continually improve Lighthouse and Tender, communicating regularly with customers like GitHub and the Rails Core team to help solve problems most important to them.

Most recently the themes of my career have been primarily about scaling the software development process itself, as collaboration and communication is fundamental to the work we do. I believe that a team needs a strong foundation of trust to create a conducive environment for innovation, and this is something that I've strived toward at every stage of my career. I also believe that development teams should be responsible for deploying and running their own software, and I'm excited to work somplace that has helped to make that easier.

Thank you for reading and I hope to hear from you!
