Leaving highschool with a passion for writing code, he started his working life as a software developer, working as part of a team to build a robust, opensource Student Information System. While programming provided the mental challenge, it lacked the physical, leading Blake to leave the keyboard behind, starting as an electricians helper in 2012. Construcation was second nature to him after years working with his father building everything from houses to cars to ornate ironwork, but found his chosen career through the work his mother does as an civil engineer speciallizing in underground utilities. He finds the utilities field to be rewarding as it brings a diverse set of challeneges, both mental and physical, to the job everyday.",
