Thanks for publishing this - I was looking for this kind of information
I have successfully used it to add quick links with layoutId = "FilmStrip"
When I try to use it with layoutId = "CompactCard" I am not able to make the link icon appear (apart from that it works)
Do you have a working sample with layoutId = "CompactCard"?

Hi @tomjan7 - I've made some minor updates (based on the code I'm using in my project) but the code above worked with CompactCard in my testing. If you're still having issues, can you create a Gist with your code that isn't working and I'll take a look?

@tomjan7 You have to leave the iconName empty for custom images in Quick Links webpart

Did anyone had any luck creating a new Quick Links web part with PnP PowerShell (Add-PnPClientSideWebPart)?
