The bare minimum to register an MBON-facilitated dataset:

  • a unique dataset_id
  • supporting MBON node(s)
  • a contact email
  • a plain-text description of the dataset

Multiple google forms are used to collect different aspects of metadata.

MBON-facilitated dataset forms:

  1. "bare minimum" initial report
  2. OBIS-submitted report
  3. spatial metadata section
    • required for MBON dataset map on marinebon.org
    • required for data to go onto
  4. eDNA-specific form
  5. gridded data form (ERDDAP link)
  6. animal tracking form
  7. soundscapes form
