Hi Adam!

What is your recommendation relative to write jpa queries using native
sql queries, jpql (both as named queries) or criteriaquery?

Currently, my approach is using .find for simple queries; for complex queries
I'm using psql to write (and test) the queries and later copy the query as a
native named query. Obviously the downside is the definition of the
SqlResultSetMapping annotation. Do you think that this is a good approach or
you can give me a better option?

Some tips for reduce the boilerplate with the definition of entities?

Thanks for share your thoughts and experience!
Regards,
Juan Picca.

Hi Adam,

I m promoting your BCE/webstandards examples in our company. Our web developers are quite hesistant and want to use Angular. Their main argument is that they want to use TypeScript (in absence of a proper understanding of ES6+). In my opinion we dont need TypeScript if you use ES6 constants and be enough disciplined to not pack different datatypes in a array etc.
What is your take on TypeScript? Does it fit in a standards way of development (considering the re-compile to javascript..)?

Thanks
Christian

PS: your web-BCE github project is pure GOLD!!

Whats your opinion on microservice communication with both REST and JMS available in your system landscape:
how would categorize when to use what? e.g.

  • fast data retrieval via HTTP GET
  • events distribution/status updates over JMS Topics
  • data storage via JMS queues or POST?
or would you completely ditch the HTTP and make use of the MQ system (Artemis) which is already in place?

Thanks
Christian

Do you think Jakarta EE+Microprofile or Quarkus will grab some market share from Spring in the near future?

Hi Adam,

How to upload large file in chunks in a Quarkus app? Is there any library for this?

Hello Adam,

Can you explain a little bit more about Quarkus architecture? Is Quarkus same as JavaEE about request handling (model: THREAD per request in JavaEE). What is something different about Quarkus and JavaEE?

I’ve read in Quarkus docs, and it says that dependecy-injection happens at build-time? Does that mean that Quarkus (behind the scenes) will inject by “generating Java classes” during compilation time, by using bytecode generation libraries like Gizmo, and not during runtime (using reflection)?

How does Quarkus reactive (RESTEasy Reactive using Mutiny) handles requests? Is it a better choice then (non-reactive)?

What do you think about Quarkus vs Spring Boot? Why does SpringBoot keep being more popular than Quarkus? Do you think that this can change and Quarkus take over Spring?

Thank you!

Hi Adam,

what are the most crucial steps to successfully split a really big monolith into microservices? Is it a viable way to do it step by step, if yes how could such steps look like?

What is your preferred approach for frontends in microservice architecture?

Thanks :)

Hi Adam,

how can I reduce/stop the cost risk of excessive resource usage in a DDOS attack on "Google Cloud Run", "AWS Fargate" and "AWS Lambda"?

Thank you

Hi Adam,

for your websites (airhacks.com and others) which hosting provider and which service/package do you use? I have seen from the IP address that it is a product of "Deutsche Telekom". Or an reseller. I'm interested in which one and why you don't use "Google Cloud Run", "AWS Fargate" or "AWS Lambda"?

Thank you again and I wish you a happy new year, much success and health in the new year.
