For fun, I had ChatGPT take the free response section of the 2022 AP Computer Science A exam. (The exam also has a multiple-choice section, but the College Board doesn't publish this.) It scored 32/36.
- For each question, I pasted in the full text of the question and took the response given.
- I tried each question once and took the response given: no cherry-picking. For readability, I've added indentation in some cases, and included method signatures where they were provided in the question and ChatGPT only provided a body. I've added question numbers; any other comments are ChatGPT's.
- Many questions have examples containing tables or diagrams; because those don't translate well to plain text, I excluded those tables/diagrams and any text that referenced them.
- I excluded the initial instructions at the top of th
This logging setup configures Structlog to output pretty logs in development, and JSON log lines in production.
Then, you can use Structlog loggers or standard logging
loggers, and they both will be processed by the Structlog pipeline (see the hello()
endpoint for reference). That way any log generated by your dependencies will also be processed and enriched, even if they know nothing about Structlog!
Requests are assigned a correlation ID with the asgi-correlation-id
middleware (either captured from incoming request or generated on the fly).
All logs are linked to the correlation ID, and to the Datadog trace/span if instrumented.
This data "global to the request" is stored in context vars, and automatically added to all logs produced during the request thanks to Structlog.
You can add to these "global local variables" at any point in an endpoint with `structlog.contextvars.bind_contextvars(custom
I want Microsoft to do better, want Windows to be a decent development platform-and yet, I constantly see Microsoft playing the open source game: advertising how open-source and developer friendly they are - only to crush developers under the heel of the corporate behemoth's boot.
The people who work at Microsoft are amazing, kind, talented individuals. This is aimed at the company's leadership, who I feel has on many occassions crushed myself and other developers under. It's a plea for help.
You probably haven't heard of it before, but if you've ever used win32 API bindings in C#, C++, Rust, or other languages, odds are they were generated from a repository called microsoft/win32metadata.
These are the steps to setup an Ubuntu server from scratch and deploy a MERN app with the PM2 process manager and Nginx. We are using Linode, but you could just as well use a different cloud provider or your own machine or VM.
