I'm from Argentina, and I've been working remotely for US companies for about 5 years now. I'd like to hear from you if you had some experience working with remote people around the world.
How do you feel with people that are trying to master a foreign language at the same time that they are trying to communicate their work during an stand up?
Of course I have some experience with working with people that talk other languages and I strugled to understand their english, but I would like to hear from you guys.... like the point of view of an employer.
I have another question from a different topic. I would like to run away from the company that I'm in. It's draining my good practices and I feel stuck. The tricky thing is that I'm building an importan project that I like to have as part of my CV. I heard a bunch of letters to you from people on a similar situation. I want to start something new, and if I'm lucky in a position where I have some voice over the project. Maybe the real problem is my PM and devops :P but I can't change that
What I'm trying to say: is it only me or it is a reality that in order to progress as an engineer you have to change job or build your own company?
Note: I say engineer but the cruel reality is that my role is more as a mere developer.
I would like to hear Mike's grim feedback on that one xD
Cheers
Keep it going
