Personal protective equipment

  • Water bottle
  • Hat
  • Sunscreen
  • Mini first aid - hand sanitiser, band aids, roll on insect repellant etc
  • Neck pillow for travelling
  • Umbrella / mac / poncho
  • Sunglasses
  • Sewing kit for minor clothes repairs

Clothes and shoes

  • Jeans and t-shirts for most of the days
  • Comfortable shoes, we'll be doing a bit of walking
  • Pyjamas easy to sleep in, it will be hot
  • Plenty of underwear for hot humid climate
  • Something nice to wear Penguin Dinner

Toiletries

  • Lots of deodorant. It's hot, don't be a smelly geek.
  • Soap, shampoo, hand sanitiser
  • Any medications, if international bring prescription.
  • Makeup, jewellery etc
  • Wet wipes - useful in hot weather

Tech

  • Laptop and charger
  • Country power adapter if needed
  • Mobile phone and charger
  • Mobile phone power bank
  • Mobile internet dongle
  • Other chargers (USB, watch charger, fitness tracker charger)
  • Display adaptors (ie VGA -> HDMI) (thanks @alecthegeek)

Other

  • Note taking equipment, pen and notepad
  • Cash or card for buying lunch and meals
  • Stickers for the sticker swap table
  • Public transport card - Opal card for Sydney

Display adaptors? (especially if you are using a Mac and need to present)
