Safari's date-picker is the cause of 1/3 of our customer support issues

...and obviously we're building a workaround. But I'm absolutely flabbergasted that a standard <input type="date"> HTML field, in a standard browser, from a company that bases its reputation good design, could be so dreadful.

The context

I'm the developer for a startup that sells a genetic test to recommend medications for high blood pressure. For medical reasons we need to know our customers' birth date. Most of our customers are in their 60s or older. We've found that many of them use iPads or iPhones. And they're the ones who complain to our customer support that our site is unusable.

They're wrong, and are quite possibly trying to scam you. Let's look at why.

What is a cryptocurrency anyway?

There are plenty of intricate and complex articles trying to convince you that cryptocurrencies are the future. They usually heavily use jargon and vague terms, make vague promises, and generally give you a sense that there must be something there, but you always come away from them more confused than you were before.

SSH autentimine ID Kaardiga - muljeid aastast 2019

Juhiseid, kuidas ID-Kaardiga logida SSH kaudu sisse on kirjutatud juba 2011 aastast. Kirjutan natuke oma tähelepanekutest 2019 aastal ning ka sellest, kuidas kasutada ID Kaarti Windowsis Puttyga.

Smartcardi kasutamine võimaldab SSH ligipääsu erinevatest masinatest nii, et ei pea hakkama igas masinas võtmeid genereerima või masinate vahel võtmeid kopeerima. ID Kaart peaks olema enamustel Eestlastel olemas olema, seega hea võimalus on seda ära kasutada.

• This should work on any computer. Only the RAID > AHCI change described below and the device name for the nvme ssd drive are specific to this laptop.
• The process describes a completely fresh installation with complete repartitioning, however it should work fine when Windows is already installed (eg. brand new machine with Windows preinstalled) as long as Windows already boots with EFI.

Recon and Attack Vectors from My Logs

This document contains excerpts from my web server logs collected over a period of 7 years that shows various kinds of recon and attack vectors.

There were a total of 37.2 million lines of logs out of which 1.1 million unique HTTP requests (Method + URI) were found.

The problem

In some cases, it is possible that PostgreSQL tables get corrupted. This can happen in case of hardware failures (e.g. hard disk drives with write-back cache enabled, RAID controllers with faulty/worn out battery backup, etc.), as clearly reported in this wiki page. Furthermore, it can happen in case of incorrect setup, as well.

One of the symptoms of such corruptions is the following message:

ERROR: missing chunk number 0 for toast value 123456 in pg_toast_45678

This almost surely indicates that a corrupted chunk is present within a table file. But there is a good way to get rid of it.
