To whom this may concern,
I would like to begin by saying that I would have liked to submit this appeal much earlier - and had more time to work on it - however, I have been working on group assignments in all the time I've not been in classes, in hope that my work would end up being worth something.
So, I just wanted to quickly and briefly touch on a few things.
Firstly, procrastination. It bears worth mentioning that this is far from a new problem, though it has been a larger problem in recent years. I believe my primary problem is that the way in which I usually procrastinate is my hobby - which itself is very similar to a large part of the coursework I must complete for my degree. Namely, in regards to the programming work I do for my degree, and the tinkering I do as a hobby. It was recommended that I reach out to Curtin Counselling in regards to the Procrastination Workshop I was informed they held every so often - though to my subsequent disappointment, the last one for this year had already run in the latter half of August.
Secondly, in regards to my study plan, I made a number of incremental changes pursuant to a better set of marks for my units - though my grade point average fails to reflect this, as whilst I did well in some units, others dragged me down. Averages fail to reflect when I excel in one unit.
Thirdly, if my commitment is in question, I would like to mention that (due to the fact that I was more than hoping my first appeal would be accepted), I am now in the final processes of signing a contract for a summer internship at Bankwest in the city. It should be noted, however, as this is an ACS (Australian Computer Society) internship (with associated scholarship), I cannot participate without being a (continuing) student. As proof of this, I have attached my Letter of Offer. I hope you find reason in this appeal to allow me to do so.
Finally, I would also like to mention that the time between when I originally submitted my appeal, August 10th, and when I received a reply, October 17th, was a period of 2 months and 7 days. In this time I have been continuing classes as per usual, completing tests, and, as I mentioned at the beginning of this appeal, have just finished one large group project, and am in the midst of another two.
Thank you for taking the time to read this,
