How to `go get` private repos using SSH key auth instead of password auth.

Set GOPRIVATE to match your github organization

Cloning the repo using one of the below techniques should correctly but you may still getting an unrecognized import error.

As it stands for Go v1.13, I found in the doc that we should use the GOPRIVATE variable like so:

GOPRIVATE=github.com/ORGANISATION_OR_USER_NAME go get -u -f github.com/ORGANISATION_OR_USER_NAME/REPO_NAME

The 'go env -w' command (see 'go help env') can be used to set these variables for future go command invocations.

How to install Meld on Windows and getting it set up with Git

After installing it https://download.gnome.org/binaries/win32/meld/ I had to tell Git to use Meld:

git config --global merge.tool meld
git config --global diff.tool meld

The last command tells Git where it can find Meld and depends on whether you are using Cygwin or Git for Windows:

Git for Windows:

Commit message guidelines

Commit Message Guidelines

Short (72 chars or less) summary

More detailed explanatory text. Wrap it to 72 characters. The blank
line separating the summary from the body is critical (unless you omit
the body entirely).

Write your commit message in the imperative: "Fix bug" and not "Fixed
bug" or "Fixes bug." This convention matches up with commit messages
