- GLAM/Collections editathons for Open Access Week.
- Focused now on Boston, but maybe in the future extend to Smith or Mt. Holyoke
- Some institutional support but many institutions are unfamiliar with Wikipedia
- Need Wikipedian support
- Cambridge needs people, but not as bad as Countway or Mass Historical
- Geonotice template?
- November/December? May be difficult for students
- Maia: need some plans in the future
- Kevin: past meetings every month have been undersubscribed
- moved to bi-monthly
- also moved to sunday
- discussed over IRC
- Maia: seems odd that meeting changes happened without input from people who go to the meetings
- Meetup organization
- Adam: meetup at bocoup
- Maia: Maybe, but open up to the listserve
- Locations need to be static
- Draft suggestions
- Bunker hill community college
- Maia: meetings can/should be edit centric
- Adam: meetup administration changes
- Maia: ok
- Kevin: Sort of evolved from an old boy system, so +1 for change
- Amanda: what is the principal organizational tool?
- email?
- meetup?
- wikipedia?
- etc.
- Jenny: meetings (in general) should have rough notes of what transpired for new folks to understand what we did in an individual meeting. Not just minutes for non-profit business.
- Kevin: WMNE elections may be held online
- Maia: could potentially co-host ADA-camp (see http://adainitiative.org/) ?
- Someone noticed I was a lawyer and asked me to look at the bylaws and I did.
- Seems to conform to Mass law on non-profit incorporation.
- Word of warning:
- Until we have the bylaws agreed upon, don't get too far ahead of ourselves on explaining what the non-profit will do and don't
- By-laws can be changed (And the system will track changes)
- Early January?
- Adam: in the spirit of the past discussions, I'd like to use the wider list to figure out the time/space
- Maia: should change the name of the meetup group to better reflect what we're doing
- Kevin: changing the name should be easy
- Adam: we can/should split the meetups from the organizational business.
- Kevin: Dues?
- Adam: user group stuff seems good to me.
