If i try vagrant up it, I catch an error:

There are errors in the configuration of this machine. Please fix
the following errors and try again:

vm:
* The box 'centos/7' could not be found.

Vagrant needs the config.vm.box_url.
Vagrant's version: 1.4.3.

So I'm 3 years late to this party, but hopefully it'll help in future.
You need the base image already downloaded and in a .box format.
At work we use Packer to automatically run through the setup process, (like fill in machine's name, username etc) and export a OS.box.
unless you have this box file and do a vagrant box add OS.box <name> you will continue to get this error.

Workflow for vagrant is

  1. get a boxfile.box (guess you can download one or make your own)
  2. vagrant box add boxfile.box
  3. vagrant up
