Generate ctags for Atom (or for any other reason) on Mac os X

Why?

Atom can automagically picks up any tags file in your current directory which enables you to:

  • shift+cmd+r search for any function in your project
  • alt+cmd+down GoTo a function declaration

How

Get brew if you don't already have it. Then:

System Design Cheatsheet

Picking the right architecture = Picking the right battles + Managing trade-offs

Basic Steps

  1. Clarify and agree on the scope of the system
  • User cases (description of sequences of events that, taken together, lead to a system doing something useful)
    • Who is going to use it?
    • How are they going to use it?
