Memory profiling Rust code with heaptrack in 2019

I recently ran into a classic case of "our code is using way more memory than it should". So I took my first dive into memory profiling Rust code. I read several posts about this, including the following

Install Terminator (shell)

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome-terminator
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install terminator

Terminator should be setup as default now. Restart your terminal (shortcut: "Ctrl+Alt+T").
