Chapter 1

        In the time before ponychat, the world was just not the same. Parasprites 
ravaged the scattered herds in their multitudes. Harsh rulers wantonly declared 
banishment. And frequent netsplits violently tore at the very fabric of the 
netscape, leaving even bronies of the same herd segregated from their friends. 
In despair of this abysmal situation, two intrepid independent groups of bronies 
forwarded their best minds towards finding a solution. They both arrived at the 
same conclusion, both knew that the brony communities needed a network to call 
their own. A place where tolerance reigned free, where the rulers ran with the 
herds, and where, above all else, friendship was highest prized.

        These aspects of brony essence, purest necessity for their new home, 
were nowhere found reflected on the vastness of the internet. As such, each 
group undertook a mission most epic of scope: a mission to create such a place 
from the metaphorical ground up. Both groups began laying the groundwork, and it 
was then that they realized that they were not alone, but were in fact building 
side by side others in common interest. The two groups found that they were the 
same, both of mind and purpose. Though alarmed at first, they did the very thing 
that they had set out to do: on that very spot, they joined together through 
bonds of friendship eternal to share in the toils of work yet to come.

        Forthwith, they set about bringing their new home into existence. . . 
together. Though the stress of the toil was great, they pressed ever onward in 
their construction. “Build it and they will come,” was the sole thought that 
crossed their collective mind during the creation. Many a late night was spent 
on the round table of Skype in deepest conference. Dreaming, planning, drawing 
forth a new world from desire most pure, for no detail was to be left to fickle 
chance.

        Build it and they will come, and come they did. To champion each of the 
brony needs did a community step forward.

        For pictures and art, did  #20pc enter the frame. Our valiant community 
from twentypercentcooler.net will forever strive to bring the latest pony pics 
through the best user interface on the web unto you. But they didn’t stop there. 
Every now and again they manage to wrangle in one of the popular artists that 
draw them, to the great delight of all.

        For sound, most primal,  #bronymusic came into being. A creative herd 
that sets the tempo of all communities pony. After all, the music has always 
need of creators.

        When it becomes time to unwind and relax, there is no place better than 
#brony. Within #brony’s lofty halls, you shall find what is best described as a 
tavern. The tales are bawdy, the wenches are loose. And such a place just 
wouldn’t feel right without the occasional brawl. All conversation is free and 
comes easy. But be forewarned, some tales are quite saucy and are thus not for 
the faint of heart.

        While relaxation most divine finds it’s way into your hearts, souls, and 
minds, sometimes you simply need some music mixed for you. To meet that wantonly

the light of their wisdom shine forth.

        And here our story does come to a close, for the creators, seeing all 
things were good, returned to their places amongst the gathered herds. The 
intrepid bronies allowed themselves to sink into the mists of obscurity, until 
they are once more needed. Amongst the users do they run, made shades by that 
which they have accomplished. So run free and safe, knowing that the realm shall 
be forevermore protected by these spirits of harmony. Perhaps if you look 
closely enough, you might even see a ghost.

        As for the feelings this project has engendered, that which we wish most 
to impart to our noble users: is simply a closeness fuelled by universal bond. 
We are a herd. We are bronies. We are ponychat: ponies together.
